I was cruising through and was wondering if you might be interested in a main page overhaul? It looks like it would really just be consolidation of all the main page components into something with a little more flow and adapted more to fluid and mobile layouts ;) I could even construct a different wordmark and provide a background as well.
Hi - I agree, I read more about it and it's some sort of timed contest, rather than a timed quest. I'll reword the intro. We'll have to figure out how to design the table. I have all of the purchase info, but you have to click on the info button to get the points info, which I've placed in a temporary bullet list for now.
Can you create a new icon for the red points ribbon?
I started using the Infrastructure table, but there are five types of buildings (Infra, Resi, Prod, Decorations, Roads), so I deleted it. Also, there needs to be an addl column for the Points info.
I think we probably need to create a new table for this. Perhaps something like this (horizontally):
Purchase Info (coin/mb, power, water, xp - consolidated into one cell)
Periodic Info (coin/pop, xp, time - consolidated into one cell)
Points Info (see my bullet list - consolidated into one cell)
Not sure how many contracts each of the two production buildings offers - if it's just one, we might be able to fit it in the Periodic Income cell. If >1, then we probably should use the standard contracts table.
the small points icon seems to be in a non-extract-able format.. so that leaves a painful job of extracting it from a screenshot.. since we are not going to need it much I don't think we can probably just use the large icon.
Great thanks - can we put the points icon in a template?
For the rewards buildings, there are 5 for Regional and 5 for World. I think the modified WheelTable format that I had been developing for the Mysterious Chest rewards will work fine for this, since we can replace the "figurines" row with "place" (e.g., Top 100). Just needs to accommodate 5 columns. May be possible to do with a single template, but probably easiest just to clone them and modify as appropriate.
I've recorded all of the construction building data on the page in list format for now. I have all of the reward building info from screenshots, but that can wait til we decide on format.
The initial quest provides access to the leaderboard.
I just posted the Smithsonian contracts to the main page - I had everything coded last night, but the server went down. If you'd prefer to include on the separate page that was created, please feel free.
The only thing that is not working right is forcing the table to full width with 20% for each column - this works fine on the Washington page but not on the London page. I added an override "xpreward" to allow the first column to be XP, as is the case in the London quest. When the override is active, the column spacing does not work (London). When the override is inactive, the column spacing works correctly (Washington).
Do I need to move the "width" tags to the title row? Right now they are set in the first row of the table.
I just added the Reference Popups feature to our wiki. (Wikipedia has this feature for a while now)
This means you can hover over a reference and the content of the reference will be shown
For the most part this just means in addition to being able to see the reference at the bottom of the page hovering over the number will show you the information without the anchor link.
It has some individualized settings in the "Configure Reference Popup" link at the bottom of the page before the comments (or the configure Icon in the popup) good if you want it to popup on tap on a touchscreen for instance.
Details and additional features are described here
Cool, thanks! Have not had much time myself lately for anything other than adding some content here and there. Let me know if there is anything major that needs to be addressed or any new admins we should consider (you can PM me at SQ).
